Anagen
This is the hair's active growth phase. Hair growth is chemically timed. For example, the hair on your head grows for 2-5 years but, your eyebrows may only grow for 2-3 months.
Catagen
This is the stage when active hair growth ceases and the hair follicle migrates upwards to the level of the erector pili muscle. This process may take about 10 days.
Telogen
The follicle is then in its resting phase. During this time the root prepares and nourishes itself to grow a new hair.
Exogen
This is when the hair falls away. The hair may stay in contact with the skin for several weeks before it actually sheds.
Important Note
It is the "Anagen" phase of growth in which your hair removal specialist needs to consider. This is the stage inwhich the hair is most easily destroyed. Your hair removal technologist will need to consider your hair growth cycles to determine the frequency of your treatments.
